Pony Club & Camp Dates
As a Pony Club Centre, Walnut Equestrian Centre is keen to teach and maintain both the standard and ethos of the Pony Club. We encourage the children to take part in the Pony Club Centre scheme which involves working towards the theory based stable management badges and also the practical riding awards. All of these awards are in conjunction with the BHS standards, which enable the children to get a foothold into the horse world. We provide courses that are exclusive to the Pony Club Centre members which run in the school holidays and during half terms. In the summer holidays, we run Pony Club Centre Camps, which are both residential and non residential, on which we work towards Pony Club Tests. Test days are held in the half term holidays, usually at the end of a 3-day course of consolidating and revising.
Pony Club 'Centres' were set up to allow children who don't own their own pony, to enjoy the membership of the Pony Club. Members are given instruction in riding and horsemanship, and how to care for their animals. We aim to promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline. For more information about the Pony Club, go to the links page for a link to their website.
